Gardener Extras

  1. Planting cleomes (spider flower) is often necessary only once, as this attractive annual flower re-seeds each year. Blooms early summer until fall in colors such as white, pink, lavender and rose. Chert is a rock resembling fling and consisting essentially of a large amount of fibrous chalcedony with smaller amounts of cryptocrystalline quartz and amorphous silica. Mushroom compost supports various types of plant growth, from fruits and vegetables to herbs and flowers. It also increases the water-holding capacity of the soil.
