We tour an urban lot that is being used to grow food for the hungry in the Tri-State area. This garden has an all-volunteer work force dedicated to growing nutrient-dense produce.

From concept to realization, we tour the Level One Arboretum and garden at Davidson Academy in Nashville, TN. This public garden space has 5 years growth. It's been certified as a wildlife habitat by the Tennessee Wildlife Foundation.

However, the Nashville Chew Crew's team is an ecologically friendly, light-footed, people-pleasing flock of sheep which chomps those invasive plants up.

What's a pollinator hotel? A habitat for beneficial garden insects. In this example assembled by the Davidson County TN Master Gardener Association, it is comprised of various items that mimic the preferred habitat found in nature for a wide variety of insects. It is recommended that a pollinator friendly structure should be located within 100 feet of the main garden beds for optimum benefit.

Caroll Marrero decided just after a 500-year flood in Nashville TN washed away a lot of natural resources off her steep hillside backyard that not one more pebble nor one more ounce of dirt was going to wash away. She sought advice from experts to incorporate remediation projects into her backyard hillside garden to manage the flow of storm water.
