Silly String Squash


  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • 3 TBSP unsalted butter
  • 2 TBSP chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Slice the squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
  3. Place the cut sides down in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Pour hot water around the squash to a depth of 1 inch. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until tender. Drain and cool slightly.
  4. Using a fork, remove the strands into a serving bowl. Add the butter, chives, salt, pepper, and garlic powder, tossing gently.
  5. Serve immediately.

Yield: 8 servings
