Pollinator Hotel

What’s a pollinator hotel? A habitat for beneficial garden insects. In this example assembled by the Davidson County TN Master Gardener Association, it is comprised of various items that mimic the preferred habitat found in nature for a wide variety of insects. It is recommended that a pollinator friendly structure should be located within 100 feet of the main garden beds for optimum benefit.

Gardener Notes

To attract pollinators, plant some of the following: herbs, catnip, motherwort, all kinds of mint, sunflowers, alysum, sedums and monarda. Beneficial garden critters include skinks, lizards, toads, tree frogs, box turtles and a variety of snakes. They will eat up pests.
